My Brain is the Sahara

I think I need some prompts. I've started that other story, but my writing flow is slowing to a trickle. My brain is just...bleah. Maybe it's just Supernatural that's not inspiring me any more, or the fact that work starts up again in a few weeks. Ugh. I don't feel like the summer has been very relaxing, what with the horror of my recent vacation (badbadbadbad and traumatic) and my last trip needing to be cancelled suddenly. It's left me with a writing malaise.

You probably know my fandoms, but if you're not sure, you can always ask. I've written in SPN, Dark Angel, Firefly, Due South, and Angel, and I'm willing to stretch into Merlin - but again, if it's a different fandom you can ask for it because I was absurdly fond of the TV in the 90's and I may have watched your suggested show religiously. If not, maybe I can fake it.

Give me characters/pairings and an idea/prompt, and I'll try nearly anything.  I can't guarantee more than a drabble (or what I consider drabbles), but you might be surprised!

Hmmm, maybe something with Angel? I mean both he and Sam have had soul-losing problems....

I always like Alec (or Ben) meeting Dean and/or Sam. Maybe when they're kids and the guys rescue them from Manticore somehow?

Soulless!Sam *is* Angel! S!Sam is turned by the AlphaVamp and Dean can't kill him, so Castiel sends him back to a time where he won't get in the way until they can figure out how to fix him. The gypsies think he's an angel with his sudden appearance - the flashytimepop and the shadow of Castiel's wings (who they don't see). Things go according to history, with replacement Spike!Dean and all. That could work....

Hmm. Okay. SPN, call it an AU split-off from Mommy Dearest. Gen. (Or whatever strikes your fancy, I'm not really picky on that front.) Dean got Jefferson Starshipped by Eve, but Castiel can't cure him. Sam refuses to kill Dean, Cas refuses to kill Dean, Dean keeps trying to kill himself but keeps failing. The downside to being a perfected new specimen of monster. Or is it an upside?

Cool! Whenever you have time... I'll keep an eye out. I figured it would be interesting to play with the idea that Dean was turned into a unique Jefferson Starship, since we saw that the other Starships were killable. But Eve was very pissed at Dean when she bit him in the ep, so I figured... why wouldn't she give him even a bit more tweaking to really ensure the penalty of being turned against his will. Also, since he was had Phoenix ash in his system at the time she bit him that may also have affected what can or cannot kill him. Also at that time she knew Cas was an ally of Dean's, so maybe that was an inclusive factor in her consideration when acting to turn him. Anyway you want to play with things -- serious, crack, a mix of both. Go nuts. :)

well, it's not really a fandom, but you mentioned alexander the great and hephaistion in your spn sentinel AU, and i'd love anything about the two of them ^^ could be in your sentinel 'verse, or just historical slash (i guess that's the genre? dunno, most of the fanfiction i found about the two of them are based on mary renault's novels...)

as for prompt ideas... 5 firsts, maybe? ie. first time they met, first time they kissed, first battle/victory, first serious injury, first time in persia, first marriage, first uncovered conspiracy/treason, etc. whatever you want, really, you can just ignore the prompt, i'd imagine it'd take to much research...

if alexander and hephaistion are too much, i'd be happy with just sam and dean as greek gods/heroes too :D

Is it weird I had a dream about this pairing last night, but they were hanging out by the pool at my childhood home and Alexander was attacked by a shark? Bitten in half! Hephaestion was very upset.

ETA: I forgot to mention I see this from an SPN twist - Lucifer!Sam as Alexander (taking over the world) and Dean as Hephaestion, his loyal lieutenant (and possibly lover). Possibilities!

They found Dean surrounded by plants on the alliance ship- now Sam and Dean use Serenity as their personal taxi when they need to get somewhere, so they've had to bring some plants onboard to keep them comfortable- maybe Kaylee's vines come to life, or actual hydroponics in one of those hidden nooks where the boys do TMI stuff. There's a sudden profusion of fresh fruit, and maybe Firefly veggie starts sell for bigbucks on the black market?
